Bluefield, WV- Frances Pauline Colobro, 94, passed away on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at Commonwealth Memory Care in Cedar Bluff, VA. Born May 26, 1925 in Welch, WV, she was a daughter of the late Posey L. White and Vertie E. Gallimore White. Mrs. Colobro was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She graduated from Welch High School. She attended Concord College and Bluefield State College to receive her degree in Education and was a long-time educator in Mercer and McDowell County Schools. Mrs. Colobro was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Beta Sigma Phi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Frank Colobro. Survivors include her beloved husband of 75 years, Tony Colobro; three children, Susan Maupin and husband Ray, Nick Colobro and wife Carol, and Tony Colobro, II; grandchildren, Mickey Maupin, Kristi McCoy, Anthony Colobro, Nicky Colobro, Courtney Colobro, Krystal Colunga, and Holly Disibbio; nine great-grandchildren; niece, Anna Mercanti; and nephew Jack Colobro. A funeral service will be held on Friday August 30, 2019 at 2:00p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sebastian Devasya officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
