Floyd’s Obituary Floyd V. Weitzel, 94 of Valley City, Ohio passed away on August 7, 2019 in Avon, Ohio. He was born on June 28, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Verne and Mae (nee Jandecka) Weitzel. Floyd proudly served in the US Army during World War II and retired from NASA. He was a member of the Brunswick VFW Post 9520, American Legion Post 234, Masonic Lodge 58 and The Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland. In his spare time, he also enjoyed golfing with his brother and spending time with his family. He will be missed by his loving children Diana (Stuart) Root and Floyd (Daisy and her parents) Weitzel, Jr; cherished grandchildren Forrest (Jennifer) Burton, Charles (Jennifer) Weitzel, Jason (Cari) Weitzel, and Rosie Meng; great-grandchildren Bryce and Zane Burton, Kyra, Brandon and Mason Weitzel; and brother Harold (Sally) Weitzel. He is preceded in death by his wife Louisa A. Weitzel and son-in-law Robert Burton. Friends and family may call on Monday, August 12th , 2019 from 3-7 PM at Waite and Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212. Services will take place on Tuesday, August 13th at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick, Ohio.
