Duxbury September 21, 1923 – August 15, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Floreine Duxbury, 95, of Salem passed away on August 15, 2019 at Leisure Living in Salem. Funeral mass will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 19 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Salem. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm on Sunday with a rosary and prayer service at 7 pm, also at the church. There will not be visitation or a rosary at the funeral home Sunday due to another service. Floreine M. Schulte was born at Emery, SD on September 21, 1923 to George and Mary (Lohmann) Schulte. She was raised on a farm near Emery and graduated form Emery High School in 1941. She attended Mitchell Business College in Mitchell, SD for two years. On June 11, 1951 she married Marcus Duxbury in Emery. They lived their entire married life in Salem except from 1957 to 1960 when they lived in Seattle, WA. She was employed as a telephone operator in Emery for three years before working at Colonial Manor in Salem for nine years. She worked in the Salem school lunchroom for 15 years before retiring. Floreine was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Altar Society, Christian Mothers, St. Mary’s Quilters and was a Eucharistic Minister and lector as well as a member of the St. Mary’s funeral choir. Survivors include: four sons, Roger (Pam) Duxbury of Salem, Terry (Tammy) Duxbury of Salem, Tom Duxbury of Seattle, WA, Mike (Deb) Duxbury of Duluth, GA; four grandchildren Angie (Brian) Sabers, Brian (Jenna) Duxbury, Mark Duxbury and Zachary Duxbury; four great grandchildren, Brady and Paige Sabers and Graham and Gabriella Duxbury. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters, Evelyn, Hilda and Alma and four brothers, August, Ralph, Arnold and Francis.
