November 22 1916 August 27 2019 (age 102)
On Tuesday August 27, 2019 Evelyn (Evangeline) Mary Bolfik, a faithful servant, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 102. Evelyn was born on November 22, 1916 in Thorndale, Texas. She was the oldest of four children. She married George J. Bolfik on November 9, 1937. Together they had two sons, George Allen and Wilfred and a daughter, Cathy. Evelyn was a devout and faithful Catholic. She lived for her family and all the gathering (holidays or otherwise) in her home. She was a wonderful seamstress-sewing clothes for everyone in the family. After the holidays, she would take a break from sewing to work on jigsaw puzzles. Every spring she would plant caladiums-they were her favorite! Some of her favorite hobbies over the years were bowling, playing dominos, playing bingo every week and taking an occasional bus ride to Coushatta to play the slots! Evelyn is preceded in death by her father, Adolph Hunger, mother Julie Hunger, brother Floyd Hunger, brother Adolph Hunger, sister Lillian Arnold, husband George Bolfik, son Wilfred, daughter Cathy and daughter-in-law Marilyn. She is survived by her oldest son, George Allen, grandchildren, Belinda Gunby, Will Bolfik, Becky Lafferty, Bruce Bolfik, DeeDee Williams, G.J. Hatfield and many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. The viewing will be held on Friday, August 30th from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Fayette Memorial Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00-7:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be Saturday, August 31st at 10 a.m. at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hostyn, Texas.
