Evan’s Obituary Evan M. Higgins, 4, of Moweaqua, passed away July 28, 2019 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019 at First Christian Church of Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2019, also at the church. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Evan Higgins Memorial Fund or Gift of Hope. Evan was born February 16, 2015 in Decatur, IL, the son of Trevor and Jeri Ann Higgins and grandson of Danny and Tina and the late Stacey Higgins, Jo Ann and Chris Reilly, and Jerry and Anita Clark. He was the best kid you could ask for. Evan was sweet, kind, full of energy and had an enthusiasm for sports. He never knew a stranger. Evan had a strong love for Jesus. He was a member of First Christian Church of Moweaqua and Passion Community Church of Mt. Zion. Surviving are his parents; brother, Owen; grandparents: Danny (Tina) Higgins of Moweaqua, Jo Ann (Chris) Reilly of Pana, Jerry (Anita) Clark of Moweaqua; aunts and uncles: Jeremy (Alisha) Clark, Danielle Lash, Michelle (Matt) Massey, Brandon (Katie) Pinkston, Andrew (Molly) Clark, Tim (Kimberly) Higgins, Trisha Higgins, Tyler Horton and Wes (Sarah) Hogan; many loving great-grandparents; and many cousins. Preceding him in death is his grandmother, Stacey Higgins and cousin, Oliver Pinkston. The family would like to thank St. John’s Hospital PICU Unit, St. Mary’s Hospital Emergency Department, Gift of Hope, the communities of Moweaqua, Assumption and Pana, and especially Evan’s Panther Football Team.
