Bergstrom, 88 of Grand Forks, ND entered into eternal life peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 4000 Valley Square-Woodside Village with her son by her side. Eva Frances Lunski was born on May 29, 1931 the daughter of William and Ida (Pokrzywinski) Lunski. She was raised in Ardoch, ND and Grand Forks, ND. Eva married Hjalmer “Al” Bergstrom on November 18, 1952 in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Grand Forks. Eva waitressed at Dakota Hotel and Westward Ho. She went on to graduate from Aaker’s Business College and in 1964 started Bergstrom Electric with her husband Al. In 1981, Al and Eva, along with their children, purchased Hoveland Haven. This business started Lakeview Resort, now owned and operated by their daughter Pam. Eva enjoyed working in the office at Bergstrom Electric and hosting at Lakeview Resort. Eva was known for her small stature and for wearing her collection of high heels. Eva and Al enjoyed 64 years of marriage together. After retirement, they spent winters in Arizona. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their lake home. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Scherschligt, Mentor, MN and her son, Tim (Cathy) Bergstrom, Grand Forks, ND; a sister, Ruth Jenson, Grand Forks, ND; a sister-in-law and good friend, Shirley Lunski, Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren, Mitch Scherschligt, Jenna (Roger Rohrer) Scherschligt both of Mentor, MN, Kali (Ethan) Paradis, Erskin, MN, Carissa (Mark) Sonnenberg, Grand Forks, ND, Jenny (Matt) Adams, Bismarck, ND, Sara (Cason) Weber, East Grand Forks, MN; great-grandchildren, Ariana, Koby, Brody, Alexis, Avery, Lauren, Layla and Lulu. Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Hjalmer “Al” on May 30, 2016; her parents; her brothers, Joe, Bill and Don Lunski; a brother-in-law, Terry Jenson, and a son-in-law, Jeff Scherschligt. A special thank you to the nurses and staff at 4000Valley Square for your wonderful care given to Eva. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2025 E.
