Eula’s Obituary Eula Jane Velen, 84, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019. She was born January 4, 1935 at Westmoreland, Kansas the daughter of Lucern and Nan Godlove Holder. Jane was raised at Westmoreland and graduated from high school there in 1952. She attended Clark’s School of Business in Topeka. She was married to John R. Velen on December 4, 1955 at Olsburg. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church. Some of the things in life that Jane enjoyed were, traveling, TV Westerns, she especially enjoyed John Wayne movies, and spending time with her family. She collected lighthouses. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy McGinnis and husband David of Topeka, Sandy Grubb and Dave Horn of Topeka and Karen Johnson and husband Jeff of Hutchinson, Kansas; grandchildren, Sara (Ryan), Michael (Meghan), Jennifer, Annika (Daryl), Cara (Austin), Sydney and Robert; great grandchildren, Aiden, Anthony, Cameron and Beckett. Jane was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 1993. Her four sisters also preceded her in death. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Monday August 12, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Topeka. Inurnment will be at the Olsburg Cemetery.
