Eric Scott Weghorst, 39, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away unexpectedly Monday, July 29, 2019. Born in Wilkes-Barre on November 6th, 1979, he was a son of Dean and Alice (Woodworth) Weghorst. He was employed in the environmental services department by the VA Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre. Eric proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Carl Vinson and also during Operation Enduring Freedom Eric loved going camping, especially at 52 acres and he also served as a past president of the camping association and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed watching his children at sporting events, listening to Pink Floyd and wearing Crocs shoes all the time. He was preceded in death by his uncle Woody. In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 19 years, Angela (Gormley) Weghorst; sons, Christopher and Devin Weghorst; daughter, Brianna Weghorst; brother, Bradley Weghorst and wife, Dena; sister, Chandra Masimore and husband, Tony; grandparents, William and Barb Woodworth and Lucille Weghorst; brother in law, Matthew Gormley and wife, Maria; father in law, James Gormley; best friend, Jeff Suchar and nieces, Hannah, Allison, Lydia and Tyler; nephew, Isaish, many aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved very much. Services are private for family and friends and entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services, Wilkes-Barre.
