Bennettsville Mr. Edgar Willis “E.W.” Moore passed away at his residence Saturday, August 17, 2019 after a sudden illness. He was 71 years old. Mr. E.W. was born in Florence County, SC on January 2, 1948 to the late P.T. Hodge and Josephine Rogers Moore. He was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bennettsville. He also served in the United States Army. He enjoyed working on small engines and spending time with his family. He is leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; wife, Hazel Hatcher Moore of Bennettsville; son, Ashley Moore (Tosha) of Bennettsville; daughter, Patty Stubbs (James) of Bellville, NC; brother, Junior Moore of McColl; sister, Ruby Pete of Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren, Henry Moore, Justin Moore, Ashton Moore, Trey Stubbs, and Matthew Stubbs; great grandchild, Lincoln Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; his previous wife, Eloise Moore; daughter, Shannon Moore; brothers, Ernest Hodge, Alvae Hodge, and Clifton Hodge; sisters, Frances Hodge Brigman, Christine Nolan, and Sadie Hodge. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Burroughs Funeral Home, with burial in Harris Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Society Hill, officiated by Rev. Thomas Buck. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM just prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 457 Salem Road, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
