Doris Youngblood age 87 of Crestview passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Sarasota, FL on October 26, 1931 to Jessie and Hartell Herndon. Doris worked as a nurse, loved to fish, loved gardening, and loved crafting in her younger years. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. In her later years, Doris loved her TV shows, loved going out to eat, and loved her dogs, then her kids. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting on the porch with her dogs. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Youngblood, her parents, and her three brothers. Survivors include her son: Leon Youngblood and his wife Sandy; daughter: Susan Diven and her husband Jerry; brothers: Raymond Herndon and wife Alice and Willard Herndon and wife Tina; sisters-in-laws: Doris Herndon and Jeanette Herndon; four grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The celebration of Doris’ life will be held on Tuesday August 20th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Whitehurst Powell Funeral Home in Crestview.
