Donna’s Obituary Donna Ahmann, 86, Glenburn, ND, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Trinity Medical Center in Minot. Donna was born February 8, 1933, the daughter of Harold and Evelyn (Torgerson) Tallman, in Minot. Donna was raised and educated in Minot attending St. Leo’s High School graduating from there in 1951. Donna married Delmar Ahmann in Minot on October 29, 1953. They made their home in Minot where she worked for Ellison’s Department Store as a clerk and several other places. She later worked for Bennie Schimmelpfennig at the café in Ruthville while her husband worked for Bennie in various capacities. In 1971, along with her husband, they established Del’s Bar at Glenburn and operated it until 1977, when they sold it. In 1980, Del became manager at the Knights of Columbus Clubrooms in Minot, and Donna was the kitchen manager there. They remained in that capacity until 1983, when they returned to Glenburn and again operated Del’s Bar. Delmar passed away on October 12, 1993. She continued to live in Glenburn and she took over the operation of the business until her daughter, Delora went into business with her. In the early 2000’s they renamed the bar, Del’s Jr. Bar. Donna was an excellent cook and baker. She baked many wedding cakes for her family and friends over the years. She could make anything taste great. Donna was known for organizing and cooking for large groups of people. She also made a lot of ceramics over the years, giving a lot of them out for gifts. Surviving family includes: daughter, Delora “Lori” Ahmann, Glenburn, ND, siblings, Mary Ann Palda, Minot, Linda Dockter, Granger, Ind, Pat (LeaRae)Tallman, Max, ND, Pam Johnson-Berger (Jack Berger), Rockwell, TX; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar “Del” Ahmann and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at 10 a.m. at St. Therese, Church of the Little Flower, Minot, ND. Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
