(80) of Johnstown passed away peacefully at home August 13, 2019. Born February 19, 1939 daughter of Harry and Hubertine (Burkhard) Updyke. Preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years Charles, son Joseph Harnett, Sr., Daughter Tamera Shoemaker, sister Sally Wisner and brothers Richard Burkhard, Robert Updyke, David Updyke, Harry Updyke and George Duray. Survived by her children Theresa McCloskey (Michael), Christine Harnett-Arcurio (Joseph) and Matthew Harnett (Jennifer), 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and sister Emily McDaniel. Donna graduated from Johnstown Senior High School in 1957, was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church and formerly of St. Columba Catholic Church. She served as a Eucharistic Minister, Reader, Lector and volunteer. She and her husband were the owner/operators of Harnett Land Surveying, She enjoyed singing and playing the autoharp along with her husband in their bluegrass band Just Rehearsin’. She also enjoyed writing in her journal, reading, crocheting and crossword puzzles. She was a wonderful mother, wife and friend who loved her family dearly. She will forever be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved her.Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10 AM tomorrow at Resurrection Catholic Church, the Rev. George M. Gulash Celebrant, Committal Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in the Harnett name to Windber Hospice. Moskal-Reid Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
