David’s Obituary David Howieson McCombe, resident of Timonium, Maryland, passed away peacefully on 8/26/19. He was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Margaret McCombe. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Jean McCombe (Goulding) and his brother Jack McCombe. He is survived by his children: John M. McMombe, DDS (Carolyn), Marcia Medina, and Sandy McCombe Waller (John Coche’), his loving grandchildren: Kimberly, Rachael, Megan, David, Sam, and Sean and his loving great-grandchildren: Molly, Tucker, Bryn, Emerson, and Graham. David was a Navy veteran having served in World War II. Upon discharge, he attended Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He also participated in graduate level engineering coursework at the University of Michigan. He worked for Bendix/Allied Signal for over 39 years. Upon retirement from Bendix, he entered government service in the Defense Logistics Agency serving as a Systems Engineer at Northrup Grumman until finally retiring in 1997. Proud of his Scottish heritage, David was an active member of the Saint Andrew’s Society of Baltimore and Clan Mac Thomas U.S., serving as the society Secretary and later as Treasure and Trustee of the Society’s Foundation. He was active in the Society’s Escort to the Colours regularly carrying the Flag of the United States of America. Friends may call at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road, on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Towson Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:00 am.
