David Charles Calufetti, Sr., age 81,of Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 12:47 p.m. at Hillsboro Area Hospital, Hillsboro, IL. A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro, IL, with Father Daniel Willenborg, as Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Mr. Calufetti was born on March 26, 1938 in St. Louis MO, to the late Guido and Catherine (Pisk) Calufetti. He married Shirley Mae Caulk on June 21, 1958 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Hillsboro IL and she survives at Hillsboro IL. David was a graduate of Hillsboro High School in 1956 and had worked as a heavy equipment operator.. He was a membr of Operating Engineers 520 at Granite City. He loved hunting, drag racing, baseball and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. David had resided in Panama IL, Phoenix AZ and Hillsboro IL. Survivors include his wife Shirley; children, David Charles Calufetti, Jr (wife Connie), Virginia Beach, VA, Vincent Calufetti, Hillsboro IL, Robin Loucks (husband Dave), Hillsboro, IL, Mark Calufetti (wife Diane), Maryland, and Maria Calufetti, Hillsboro IL; nine grandchildren, David III, Shannon, Kyle, Colin, Nathan, Abby, Kal, Lilith and Bryan; thirteen great grandchildren and one brother, Tony Calufetti. One brother preceded in death. Memorials are suggested to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home, Hillsboro IL, is in charge of arrangements.
