David Alan Scott was born on September 6th, 1958 to Richard and Anna Scott in Rockford Illinois. Dave was an avid outdoorsman and took great pride in everything he did. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1976 and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Devry Institute in Chicago. He had a lustrous career finding success in whatever endeavors he pursued. From becoming vice president of MTI in Montevideo Minnesota, to excelling in Real Estate at Remax Valley Realtors, there was no limit to Dave’s potential and success. Dave loved playing sports, fishing, hunting, boating, hiking, gardening, traveling, training German Shorthair pointers, bird-watching and concerts. He also enjoyed most importantly; spending time with his grandchildren, children, and with his fiancé’ Roberta (Robbie) Grove. Dave was committed to helping to make the world a better place; by putting others before himself. He was a passionate sports fan and never missed a chance to watch the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Dave is survived by his mother Anna Scott Davenport, Iowa as well as his children Michael Scott Japan, Ryan (Katelyn) Scott Rockford, Ashley Scott of Henderson, Nevada, his grandchildren Jordan and Jaeden Rockford, sisters Teresa (John) Rule Davenport, Iowa, Michaele Scott Rockford, his loving fiancée Roberta Grove of Rockford and several nieces and nephews as well as beloved pet Oreo. David is predeceased by his father Richard Scott and nephew Scott (Scottie) Rule. Dave never gave up at any point in life and his strength and positivity will always be remembered by those close to him as he battled cancer bravely for over 2 years.A special thanks to David’s friends Aric Romriell and Bill Jones for their support and help. A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Anderson-Long-Klontz Funeral Home & Cremation Services Ltd., 6825 Weaver Road, Rockford, IL.
