Darwin’s Obituary Howell, Darwin P. of Flushing, age 81, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at home surrounded by his girls. Funeral services will be 11a.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Rossell Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the services. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Moose Haven/Flushing Moose Lodge. Darwin was born in Flint, MI on February 20, 1938, the youngest of 12 children born to Frank and Ellen LaBarr Howell. Darwin was a proud 1957 graduate of Northern High School where he met his sweetheart, Carol Vickery. They married December 14, 1957. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Beecher district during which he raised his 3 fabulous daughters. Darwin retired from General Motors in 1992 after 30 years. He enjoyed his retirement years on the golf course as a avid golfer to get that elusive birdie on every hole. Darwin was always prepared for a golf road trip with his golf buddies, he loved to donate his money to the Indian reservation “Casino”, an ice cold Bud, Dilly Dilly while rooting for his #1 Penn State at the Flushing Moose Lodge. Darwin is survived by his daughters, Kim Howell, Pam Howell, Lisa and husband Tim Stillwell; grandchildren, Amanda (Buckey), Michael, Alesha, Jacob, Jenelle (Button Nose), Krystal, McKenzie, Gage, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Kyla, Malia, Madison, Marisa, Olive, Aiden, Owen; and sisters, Ellen Hart, Mattie (Tiny) Olsen, Edna Alecci; and his beloved dog, Dixie.
