Darrid’s Obituary Chairman Darrid Anthony Cooksey was born October 23, 1961 in El Dorado to the late James and Jeannette Cooksey. He accepted Jesus Christ at a young age while attending First Baptist Church on Cordell street under the pastorship of the late Dr. Rev. E.A. Porchia. Later he joined the Sunlight Church of God in Christ under the pastorship of Supt. Charles Booker, Emetrius Pastor and current Pastor, Pastor Herbert Ridgell, Jr. On February 18, 1995 he married his devoted wife, Arlinda Rena Shutes-Cooksey, unto this union he was blessed with one son, Brodrick Williams of Dallas, Tx; three daughters, Dieasha Owens of Dallas, Tx, Crystal Owens- Browning (Marquis) of Arkadelphia, AR, Shacole Cooksey of Maumelle, AR. He had eight grandchildren; Derrion Owens, Dreya Owens, Dallas Owens, Lyric Browning, Lyeric Browning, Cryslie Browning, Laylah Moore, and Kenstee Williams. Chairman Cooksey is preceded in death by his Father, James Cooksey and his brother, Carl Green (Vanessa). He leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Arlinda Rena Cooksey; his children, Brodrick Williams, Dieasha Owens, and Crystal Owens-Browning (Marquis), Shacole Cooksey;; his mother, Jeanette Cooksey; three sisters, Dinnah Cooksey, Lorrie Cooksey, Andrea Richardson all of El Dorado, AR; One brother, Ricky Wax of Dallas, TX; sister in laws, brother in law; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and church family.
