Darrell’s Obituary MADISON – Darrell Gray Via, 59, died on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Hospice of Rockingham County. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Via was born on December 31, 1959 in Rockingham County to the late Lester Earl Via and Myrtle Joyce Via. Darrell enjoyed fishing and spending Sundays at his mom’s watching NASCAR and cheering on Jimmie Johnson. He also took great pride in his garden, especially his tomatoes. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Earl Via, Jr. and sister, Cindy Lou Via. Survivors include his daughter, Susan V. Corum (Benny); brothers, Larry Via (Christine), William Via and Bluford Via (Wendy); sisters, Ruth Hopper (Paul Tilley), Frances Pugh, Bonnie Collins Cisneros, Patricia Lester (Charlie) and Deborah Chaney (Benny) and sister-in-law, Inez Dunlap Via. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Colonial Funeral Home & Chapel, Inc. 127 Ellisboro Road, Madison, NC 27025, to assist the family with expenses.
