Dana Marie Leger July 27, 1974 – August 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card OPELOUSAS ~ Memorial services will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas for Dana Marie Leger, age 45, the former Dana Woodson, who passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at her residence in Opelousas. Mrs. Leger was a native and lifelong resident of Opelousas. She was employed with Dr. Tom Darbonne as an Orthodontist Assistant. Dana was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville. She loved to fish and enjoyed camping and going to the beach. Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Jody Leger of Leonville; a son, Derek Mitchell Leger of Opelousas; her parents, David Eli Woodson and Jessica Ann Richard of Leonville; her brothers, Johnny Woodson and his wife, Spring, David Woodson, Cody Woodson and his wife, Tiffany, all of Opelousas, and Tony Woodson of Leonville; and her grandchildren, Ava Leger, Sophia Leger and Lane Leger. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dorothy and Warren Leger. A rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Friday. Pallbearers will be Derek Leger, Johnny Woodson, Tony Woodson, Drake Woodson, Eric Leger and Aaron Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be David Hutchins and Corey Head. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for the compassion and care shown to Dana before she entered her heavenly home.
