Coy’s Obituary Coy Micheal Johnson, 63, passed on to Glory, Saturday, August 24, 2019 in Amarillo, TX. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas. Officiating will be Hugh Schwartz and Ron Harding. Arrangements provided by Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX. Coy Johnson was born to Buford and Nelda (Booth) Johnson in Amarillo, Texas on October 9, 1955. He spent his childhood in Washburn, Texas and attended school in Claude and graduated from there in 1974. Coy then went on to attend TSTI for electronics and graduated in the top 10 of his class. Coy married the love of his life, Brenda Ball, on January 29, 1982. They lived in Garden City, Kansas, Holtville, California, for a short bit, and then came to Dalhart for work and settled there to raise their son Brian. Coy worked for Town and Country from 1981-1985 until they closed, and he decided to start his own business. C&J Irrigation was started out of Coy and Brenda’s home in 1985 and in 1988 they moved to their first storefront. Their business has grown over the years and has employed many workers who are more like family. Coy has lived a life full of blessings surrounded by family and friends. Coy is survived by his loving wife, Brenda of Dalhart, Texas, his son Brian Johnson of Amarillo, Texas, his mother Nelda Johnson of Dalhart, Texas, a brother, Bobby Johnson and wife Barbara of Dalhart, Texas, Father-in-law, Darryl Ball of Garden City, Kansas, sister-in-law, Charie Triplett of Garden City, Kansas, his nieces and nephews: Marci Mustoe, Christy Johnson and Chase Johnson all of Amarillo, Texas, Jessica and Carl Bunch of Garden City, Kansas, Nikki and Dusty Green of Howardwick, Texas, Misti Hanbury of Dalhart, Texas, Cristi and Don Childers of Streetman, Texas, Kari Knight of Streetman, Texas, Joe and Kheli Harless of Amarillo, Texas, J.W. Harless of Odessa, Texas and numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins. Coy is preceded by his father, Buford Johnson, a brother- Jimmy Van Johnson, his mother-in-law- Shirley Ball and a brother-in-law-Marvin Ball.
