Correen’s Obituary Correen Maxine Sumagpang, age 55, Quapaw, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Freeman West after a battle with cervical cancer. Correen was born December 17, 1963 in Fort Bragg, California. She grew up and attended school in California. She moved to the four state area 28 years ago, and most recently was working for Downstream Casino as an Account Clerk, a position she held for 10 years. She was a member of the Joplin Seventh-day Adventist Church. Her hobbies included caring for her farm animals, especially horses. She was a woman of strong faith who loved spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandkids. She is survived by her parents: John R. Arledge and Lucille Pearson Schoonover; sisters, Elizabeth, Martha, and Rena; her husband, Herson A. Sumagpang; children, Joseph Sumagpang, Trista Boyd (Johnny), Jesse Sumagpang (Erica Gandy), and Eugene Sumagpang (Sara); and grandchildren. She is also loved and will be missed by her in-laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, August 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Joplin Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Jeff Werda officiating.
