Mr. Clinton Batten, age 75 of Pearson, GA, passed away late Friday evening, August 9, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital Riverside in Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Batten was born November 29, 1942 to the late Elisha Batten and the late Myrle Baker Batten. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cherylene Hersey Batten. Mr. Batten, a native of Coffee County, was a USDA Farm Program Administrator and he was also a farmer. He was a member of Royal Chapel Church and he was a veteran of the US Army. Survivors include: 1 Son: Clinton Stephen Batten and wife Stephanie of Pearson, GA 1 Sister: Mildred Deen of St. Mary’s, GA 3 Grandchildren: Zachary Elisha Batten of Pearson, GA Ethan Clinton Batten of Douglas, GA McKenzie Giles of Pensacola, FL A number of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at 1:00 P. M. at Wesley Chapel in Atkinson County with Rev. Philip Smith and Rev. H. P. Murray officiating. The interment will follow in Royals Cemetery. Mr. Batten will be placed in the church at 12:00 Noon to lie in state until the funeral hour. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, August 13, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Ricketson Funeral Home. Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
