Clarence’s Obituary Clarence Scott, 92, of Wood River passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Willow Rose Rehab & Health in Jerseyville. He was born August 18, 1926 in Hartford, IL to Lewis Edward and Lillie Mae (Rigsby) Scott. Clarence served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was retired from Laclede Steel where he worked as an electrician for over 35 years. He married Beverly Hicks, October 13, 2004 in Las Vegas. Clarence was a member of the Wood River Moose, East Alton American Legion Post 794, Wood River Moose Lodge 1349 and VFW Post 2859. He is survived by his wife Beverly Scott of Wood River; daughter, Lisa K. (Stephen) Grammer of Alton; step daughter, Joyce Ansell of Granite City; grandson Sean Bechtold of Alton; step granddaughter, Rebekah (Michael) Loehr; step greatgrandchildren, Abby, Madalyn and Matthew; sister, Virginia Winzelman of Franklin, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Marjorie Scott; daughter, Melissa Bechtold and sister, Viola Wilhite. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of services at noon, Friday, August 9, 2019 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Bethalto.
