Clarence’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Allen “Buddy” Cox will begin at 2:30 pm Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home chapel with the Reverend Mike Sahler officiating. Entombment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Mr. Cox, 75, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at his home. Mr. Buddy retired from the U.S. Navy over 24 years where he was stationed in Vietnam as a Seabee. He worked faithfully as a case manager with UMCOR for many years after retirement. He was a certified United Methodist Lay Minister; he was currently serving as a supply pastor. He enjoyed his retirement years by spending time restoring antique cars and spending time with friends, especially his dog, Nick. Mr. Buddy is survived by his children, Frank Allen Cox (Dana), Teresa Radcliffe, Tony Vandiver (Renee); grandchildren, Calvin Cox, Alie Radcliffe, Heather Radcliffe, Hannah Vandiver, Mya Vandiver and Liam Vandiver. Sisters, Jane Shields (Steve) and Sarah Hall (Don); brothers-in-law, Randy Chandler (Cathy) and Ricky Chandler (Lana); sister-in-law, Barbara Richardson (Brad) as well as a host of extended family members and friends. Mr. Cox is preceded in death by his wife Judith Cox; daughter, Christina Cox; parents, Allen and Margaret Cox; as well as his companion, Carolyn Beaver. Brother, Clayton Butch Cox, and one sister, Mary Moore. The family suggests memorials be made to the UMCOR fund at Poplar Springs Drive United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
