Catherine Patricia Cathy Brosen Sweetman Sunday August 11th 2019

Sunday August 11th 2019
Catherine Patricia Brosen, mother, wife, sister, friend, quietly passed away this past weekend with her three children by her side, just 15 weeks after the passing of her husband of 50 years, Robert J. Brosen. Cathy lived in Ocean County NJ her entire life. She held a number of jobs over the years, including sales, real estate, bookkeeping, and home improvement retail. But her favorite job of all was being a wonderful grandmother to Jake, Liam, Rowan, and Ricardo, including being a caregiver for most of them as infants. She was the very definition of a modern empowered woman. As an artist, craftswoman, and builder, she loved working with her hands to make her ideas and designs reality. As a singer and storyteller, she encouraged and fed the imaginations of her kids and grandkids. As a teacher and nurturer, she enjoyed sharing her love and knowledge of nature, anthropology, and construction. Cathy is survived by her grandkids, her children, Bryan, Jenn, and Rob, children-in-law, Eric and Dalila, her brother, John, her sisters, Bonnie, Judy, Marie, and Sue, and her many dear nieces and nephews. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Answering TTP (www.answeringttp.org). Funeral mass will be held Friday, August 16th at 9:15am at St. Luke’s, 1674 Old Freehold Rd, Toms River, NJ 08755.
