Billy Eugene Shultz July 31, 1926 – August 24, 2019 Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Billy Eugene Shultz, 93, lifelong resident of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, August 24, 2019 at his home in Oskaloosa. He was born July 31, 1926 in Lawrence, the son of Ralph Waldo and Mildred Susan Spielman Shultz. A 1944 graduate of Oskaloosa High School, He began farming with his grandfather in Shultz Farms in the Oskaloosa area. He entered the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean war, serving as a munitions handler from December 2, 1950 to September 2, 1952. He returned to Oskaloosa to be a lifelong farmer and stockman with Shultz farms until he was 85. He was a member of Oskaloosa First United Presbyterian Church. He was a former member and charter member of the Lucky Spur Saddle Club of Oskaloosa and was formerly very active in Jefferson County 4-H, serving in livestock judging for many years. He married Helen L. Gilbert on June 26, 1969 in Miami, OK, she survives at home. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sally Haertl and Bill Delehant, two great-grandchildren, Jack Delehant and Jackie Haertl, several family relatives and a special care giver, Anna Beach. Billy was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline “Jackie” Delehant and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Nightingale. At Billy’s request, Cremation Care is planned. No memorial services are planned. Inurnment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
