Barbara Howe, age 82, passed on to eternal life on August 6, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born in Detroit, MI on May 25, 1937 belonged to St. Cecila’s Parish, lived in Madison Heights, MI; Mt. Dora, FL, Shelby Twp., MI and worked for Lamphere Schools favoring her time in Transportation. Barb was dedicated to raising her family. She cherished her special friendships with neighbors, coworkers and lifelong friends. Barb had a kindness, ease of conversation and genuine concern for all. She had a way of listening and connecting that made each person feel special and was always ready for an adventure. Barb had a love of Disney, Christmas, flowers, musicals/concerts, and going to the beach to put her feet in the water. Barb also enjoyed her weekends away with the girls where her fun sense of humor was on display. Barbara treasured the time with her family most. She was wise, honest, adventurous, agreeable, thoughtful, brave, strong, a best friend and a joy to be around. Our Mom will be missed dearly and we are so fortunate to have created such special memories with her. Barbara is survived by her children, Gary Howe (Erin), Richard Howe, Jill Kincaid (Bill, whom she called her 6th child), Sandi Fenn (Robert) and grandchildren Abram (Kate), Kyle, Sidney, Shelby, Evan, Brennan, Kacey, Brady, Logan and Avery. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jerry. The family will receive friends at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd., Royal Oak (4 blocks east of Woodward) on Tuesday, August 13th from 4 p.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 6:45 p.m. A separate CELEBRATION OF LIFE party will be held at the end of September (details tbd). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the American Lung Association. Barbara will be laid to rest with her late son, Jerry, at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, MI.
