Andrew’s Obituary Andrew James Piaskowy, age 70, of Covington, KY passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hammond, Indiana, raised in Lansing, Illinois, educated at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champagne, his life was filled with travel and appreciation for good design. His final year of architecture school was spent studying in Europe, where, he often said, he “became an architect” while his study and travel was based in Paris. He was founder and principal designing architect at PCA Architecture for 42 years. Andrew’s talent for design encompassed all facets of community life: churches, schools, historic renovation, commercial and residential buildings. His gift in translating his clients’ architectural needs into efficient, light-filled spaces built a successful business – one which yielded many dear friendships as well as long-lasting business relationships. Of his many projects, he was particularly honored to be involved in the restoration and renovation of Trinity Episcopal Church in Covington, Ky, design of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Montgomery, Oh, the lighting project at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington, Ky, the CVG Security addition, and all of his work with schools – day care centers, elementary, middle, secondary schools. Through his years of learning, growing, and experience, he built his own home which showcased his talents and art. His involvement in community service led him to serve on many boards – Senior Services of N Ky, Cathedral Child Development Center, Inc., Historical Preservation Society, and was a member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. He was an amazingly good steward of the gifts he was given and was actively involved in Trinity Episcopal Church as a tenor in the choir and two terms on the Vestry. Andrew also bravely served our country as a member of the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife, LeeAnn Kordenbrock of Covington, KY; daughter, Katharine Piaskowy Clayton (Phillip) of Hamilton, OH; brother, Frank Piaskowy (Barb) of Goshen, IN; sister, Linda Blum (Richard) of Goshen, IN; grandchildren, Phillip Andrew Clayton, Calista Clayton and Jackson Clayton. A visitation will be held at Middendorf Funeral Home (3312 Madison Pike Ft. Wright, KY 41017) on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
