He was born November 12, 1936 in Sand Lake the son of Edward and Gladys ( Bird ) Rector. During his working years he worked as a meat cutter for Pastoors Meats for over twenty years as well as Birds Meat Market in Howard City for five years. He enjoyed Hunting, fishing, yard sales and euchre. In 1958 he married Edith Ranney who survives. Also surviving are one son Tim ( Rachel ) of Howard City One daughter Debra ( Kory ) Mossell of FL 8 Grandchildren one sister Norma Shira of Grand Rapids and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marian and a brother James. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 11:00 Am at the Heckman Funeral Home with burial in the Elmwood Cemetery in Cedar Springs.
