Albert C Velevis September 2, 1918 – August 27, 2019 Albert Charles Velevis passed away on August 27, 2019 just about week shy of his 101st birthday. Born in Girardville, Pennsylvania, Albert spent most of his life in Hoboken and North Bergen. At the age of 24 he joined the Army and served during World War II with the 1st Armored Division in Africa and Italy. He is predeceased by his partner, Jeanette Sifflard, parents, brothers and sister. He leaves behind his niece Joanne Walsh of Stamford, Connecticut and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and neighbors and friend such as Mary, Anthony and John. He was a past commander of the McDowell VFW Post 2648 and served the post in many capacities into his nineties. He worked in the factory of Keuffel and Esser Co. (K&E) and, after retirement, worked for A.K. Macagna Funeral Home. He was as proud of his military service as his family was proud of him. He had a sharp sense of humor and If he teased you, that meant he liked you. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any VFW or other veteran’s organization. Interment will take place at Brigadier Generial William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J. Date to be announced. Born: September 2, 1918 Death: August 27, 2019
