Obituary of William Harold Garrett William “Bill” Harold Garrett of West Columbia, SC died peacefully in his sleep on June 23, 2019 at the age of 74. William was born on November 10, 1944 in Darlington, SC to the late Claude Harold Garrett and Mae (Waldrop) Garrett. A proud United States Marine Corps Veteran, William served bravely during the Vietnam War. Bill had a long and fulfilling life filled with the most precious of life experiences. William is survived by 7 children, Samantha Goodenough (Scott Goodenough) of Lexington, SC, Tabitha Forrester (John Forrester), Natasha Cook (James Cook), Charles Davis, Jeannie Fort, and Shiloh Garrett; 8 Grandchildren, Kaydynn Oelhafen, Grayson Goodenough, Koleson Goodenough, Skylynn Goodenough, Andrew Garrett, William “Trey” Carson, Nikki Fort, and Nancy Fort; many step grandchildren; many great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters; Anne Garrett Shirley, Mary Elizabeth Garrett, and Amelia Brazell; a cousin, Peggy Garrett Kelley. He is preceded in death by his father Claude Harold Garrett and his mother Mae Waldrop Garrett; his sister Claudia Sue (Garrett) Tarter; his brother Brian Eugene Garrett; his brother, Ronnie Garrett; and his step mother, Jimmie Bland “Sue” Garrett.
