William’s Obituary William E. “Bill” McCarthy of Levittown died sudddenly on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Jefferson Bucks Hospital. He was 74. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Bill attended Xaverian High School. After graduating he joined the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the service, he came home and pursued his love affair with thoroughbred horse racing. He followed in his uncle’s footsteps and started his training career in Maryland. Eventually, he found his way up to Pennsylvania to train at Liberty Bell and the new Keystone (now Parx) racetrack. His passion for horse racing was a major part of his life. Beloved husband of the late Janet, Bill was the loving father of Carrie McCarthy and William C. McCarthy. He will also be missed by his dog, Jack. He is also survived by his sister, Donna McCarthy Dellecave and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine, and his brother, Thomas. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 until 3 p.m. on Friday, July 5th at the James J.
