William “Bill”‘s Obituary William “Bill” Eugene Denning, 85, of Brethren, formerly of Clio, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at home with his family by his side. He was born February 2, 1934, in Lansing, the son of George and Mary-Esther (Trenary) Denning. Bill served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He worked for Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac, in Flint, for many years, and he also worked as a chef. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and go mushrooming. He was a master fly tyer and a gifted woodworker. Most of all, Bill loved his family. Bill is survived by: his wife of more than 60 years, Shirley Denning of Brethren; his children, Donald (Tamara) Denning of Cadillac, Cecilia “Tootie” (Mark) Nash of Adrian, Jeffrey (Debra) Denning of Mesick; his grandchildren, Christopher (Bonnie) Denning of Cadillac, Tiffany (Michael) McGee of Tustin, Jacob (Samantha) Denning of Manton, and Kaitlyn Denning of Mesick; his great-grandchildren, Cory McGee, Logan McGee, Edward (Kim) Gradowski, Amber (Michael) Segui, Jacob Wager, Carolyn Denning; Ashtyn Denning, and Masyn Denning; his great-great-grandson, Braxton McGee; his siblings, John (Gwen) Denning of Marshall and Kay (Jack) Bechtel of Battle Creek; his sister-in-law, Sarah Denning of Grand Rapids; his doggie granddaughter, Sophie; and numerous friends and fishing buddies. Bill was preceded in death by: his parents; and his brothers, Louis Denning and Ronald Denning. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, June 21, 2019, and from 12-3 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2019, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva.
