Bluefield, WV- Walter “Don” Stamper, Jr., 51, of Bulltail Hollow Road, Bluefield, WV, died Monday June 10, 2019 at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. Born January 24, 1968, he was the son of Dollie Reid and the late Walter Donald Stamper, Sr. Don was a mechanic who had a passion for working on cars, especially Fords. He was a wonderful father and loved to spend time with his son. He liked animals and loved his dogs, Sassy, Dougie, Daisy, Peanut and BJ; cat, Boots, and Guinea Pig, Peeps. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Otis Reid; and niece Jamie Taylor. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sue Brooks Stamper and son, Joshua Bayne, both of the home; sisters, Donna Gearheart and husband Barry of North Carolina, Kathy Mathena and husband Preston of Bluefield, VA, Sharon Borich and husband Jerry of Bluefield, WV, and Lynne Taylor and husband Teddy of Princeton, WV; two special nieces, Crystal Wright and husband Paul of North Carolina and Heather Lusk and husband David of Princeton, WV; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend, Pete Brooks and James King. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, June 13, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 264 New Hope Road, Princeton, WV. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday June 14, 2019 from Immanuel Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Dan Jividen, Rev. Kyle Neal, and Rev. Don Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
