Wm Dexter Grant, 53, of Alloway passed away June 2, 2019. Born in New Haven, CT., Dexter was a loving husband to Kristen (Welch) and father to Jonathan and Lauren. He is survived by his brother William Grant, Marsha (Walt) Langsdorf, Lisa (Helmut) Lackermayer, Pam (Brad) Holmes and Ken (Judy) Lett, mother-in-law, Dolores Welch, sisters-in-law, Karen (Johnny) Casella, Kelli Parkell and brother-in-law Keith (Nita) Welch. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Wilma Sutphin Grant and his father-in-law Ed Welch. Dexter was a supportive uncle to several nieces and nephews and a wonderful boss and friend to many. A Woodstown High School graduate, Dexter was an entrepreneur and the owner of Flag Crab Company in Stow Creek and Anchor Marina in Heislerville supplying Delaware Bay Crabs up and down the east coast. He was the former owner of D & E Seafood in Penns Grove. He served many years on the Blue Crab Committee which is an advisory panel to the Marine Fisheries Council. He was known by family, friends and employees as being a prankster and as having a “unique” sense of humor. When not working, Dex enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Rocky. He was an avid ‘foodie’ who loved going to restaurants and the Italian Market in South Philly. He always looked forward to cooking, especially his famous ‘Seven Fishes’ Dinner on Christmas Eve. The family will be available on Friday night, June 7, 2019, from 6 pm until 8 pm to greet those who wish to stop by and pay their respects at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098. They will be available again Saturday morning, June 8th, starting at 10 am until 11 am with the service immediately following. Interment will be private. The family has suggested that donations can be made to the Salem County Humane Society, North Game Creek Road P.O. 214, Carney’s Point, NJ, in Dexter’s memory.
