Thomas (Tom) F. McCreesh Sr. (87) of Huntington Valley, Pa passed peacefully surrounded by his family on June 24th and is now in the loving arms of his late wife Helen (née Thompson). Tom was born in Philadelphia, Pa in1932. He graduated from North Catholic High School and joined the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged he worked as a letter carrier for the USPS, retiring as a branch manager after 33 years of service. After retirement from the post office he stayed busy working for SPIN (Special People in Northeast). Tom, is survived by his eight children Tom McCreesh (Sandy), Pat McCreesh (Denise), Dave McCreesh (Selena), Lyn Greenfield (Rich), Frank McCreesh, Joe McCreesh (Kelly), Matt McCreesh (Anna) and Jim McCreesh (Rachel). Tom was blessed with 14 Grandchildren; Kristina Marley (Steve) Laura Beth (Pat and Denise); Kylie McCarroll (Ryan), Kacie, David (Dave and Selena); Rich Greenfield (Sara), Kait Dougherty (Steve), Kevin Greenfield (Lyn and Rich); Joe, Nick, Tim, Danny (Joe and Kelly); Kerri (Matt and Anna); Jimmy (Jim and Rachel). He was additionally blessed with 4 great-grandchildren. Tom was very active in the lives of his children, he loved watching them play and cheer at Frankford Boys Club and Frankford High School. We think he secretly rooted for North Catholic on Thanksgiving Day, but would never admit it. He especially loved watching his grandchildren play club, high school and college sports. He will always be remembered as a loving caring, decent and respected man touching all who were fortunate to have known him. Friends and family are invited to Kirk & Nice Suburban Chapel, 333 County Line Road, Feasterville, Pa on Sunday June 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. There will also be a viewing on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at St. Albert the Great 212 Welsh Rd, Huntington Valley Pa. 19006. Mass will begin at 11:00 am. Tom will be interred with military honors at New Cathedral Cemetery located at Front and Luzerne Sts. In Philadelphia.
