Sylvia (Moore) Kurt June 26, 1947 – June 20, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation NEWPORT – Sylvia Kurt, 71, died June 20, 2019 at her residence following a long illness. She was born June 26, 1947 in Hartland, a daughter of Everett and Mary (Floyd) Moore. Sylvia graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1966, and married Curtis R. Kurt that same year. They lived and raised their family in Palmyra. She spent her time as a homemaker, gardening and watching the birds. She was a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed researching the family tree. In addition to her husband of 53 years, she is survived by a daughter, Stacey and husband Richard Donaldson; a son, Michael and wife Trisha Kurt; granddaughter Abbigail and husband William Pelkey; grandsons, Mathew and wife Whitney Thornton, Brendan and Damian Donaldson, Donovan and Braden Kurt; great grandchildren, William, Wyatt and Natalie; sisters Jean Sparrow, Rosemary and husband Robert Reynolds, Ethel Allen and Barbara Hamilton; as well as a special cousin Frances Clark. In addition to her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by brothers, Richard Scholes, Emerson “Bo” and Charles Moore. There will be no formal funeral at this time. Private graveside services for the immediate family will be held at a later date at Palmyra Village Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
