Susan “Sue” Marie Wertz, 65, of Grand Island passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019 surrounded by her family at home. Services will be on 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo will officiate. Sue was born on May 4, 1954 at Stromsburg, daughter of LeRoy and Frances (Rhoades) Lemburg. Sue attended Grand Island Senior High School and was a long-time resident of Grand Island. She was a dedicated employee at McCain Foods for over 44 years. On June 21, 1997 she was united in marriage to Rich Wertz. Together they supported and raised granddaughter, Samantha. As an avid gardener, Sue loved to plant extensive flower gardens. She had an eye for collectables, decorating her home with horse figurines and rooster décor. She enjoyed camping and taking vacations to test her luck at the casinos. Her love and care for her family will always be cherished. Sue never knew a stranger, she was loved by everyone who knew her. Sue is survived by her husband, Rich; granddaughter, Samantha (Adam Siljenberg) Dahlke of Grand Island; mother Frances Lemburg of Grand Island; sisters, Lucy (Jerry) Smith of Colorado Springs, CO, and Louise (Richard) Crom of Fremont. She is also survived by her in-laws, Lyle Wertz of Ft. Collins, Pat Daley of Plano, TX, Judy Puckett of Cottonwood, AZ, Barb Hobbs of Plano, TX and Brenda (Mike) Cummings of Prosper, TX; granddogs and grandcats, Tank, Daisy, Sable, Stormy, Faith, and Lilly; nephews James Hunter of Colorado Springs, CO, Andy Lute of Fremont; niece, Sandy Yager of Grand Island; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
