Sidney Blatchford, 79, was born on February 2, 1940 in Teller, Alaska to Percy Blatchford and Mae Herman. Sid was raised in Seward. Where as a teenager he ran a trapline. He was with Operating Engineers for over 30 years. Sid loved to help people especially those working on sobriety. He nevet met a stranger and always had a joke and a smile. He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers; Tommy, Ernest, Eugene, and Percy; his sisters Grace , Dolly Peters, Gloria Peck,… Christine Holmberg, and Ruby Blatchford, daughter Nola Hopkins, and grandson, Michael Chase. He is survived by his brothers Jack (Peggy) and Henry “Doc”, sisters Mae Brandon and Marjorie Gagnon, sons Ward (Cheryl) Courtney, Sidney Jr (Syneva), daughters Julie (Marvan) Chase, Jenette (David) Gates, and Camey Gaines , 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
