Shirley’s Obituary Shirley Lee Mowry passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019 at home in Presho, SD. She was born in Valentine, NE on March 17, 1932 to Leo and Ruth (Eaton) Mizner. After graduating from Alexandria (SD) High School she joined George F. Mowry in 67 years of marriage. Shirley became the Presho Postmaster in 1961 and served in that position for 16 years. Upon retirement she poured her efforts into making her home comfortable to friends and family. She spent countless hours “matching colors” and papering and then repapering walls. She loved to work outside and her lawn showed it. Shirley also liked to play outside at the Medicine Creek Golf Course and was a member from its very beginning. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, George; parents, Brother Gene, brother-in-law Jack Schneider, and great-grandson Zion McKillop. Surviving are children-Craig (& Amber), Presho, Connie, Sioux Falls, Mark (& Paula), Spearfish, Steve (& Deb), Presho; sister Berne Schneider; sister-in-law Marina Mizner; grandchildren- Cade (& Desi), Spokane, Amanda (& Chris) McKillop, Anchorage, Chase, St. Paul, Allison (& Jamie) Coin, Spearfish, Callie(& Jordan) Wilson, Sioux Falls, Kahle, and Shalayne Mowry, Spearfish, Sage, and Shilo Mowry, Presho, great grandchildren- Breckon, Ogden, Nevada, Edan, Lava, Terec, and Ezrah. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Medicine Creek Golf Course at Presho. A celebration of Shirley’s life will take place there later this summer. Read More
