Shelva Cartrette Locklear, age 65 of Chadbourn, passed away on Sunday Morning, June 23, 2019 at McLeod Seacoast Hospital in Little River, SC. Born on December 22, 1953 in Loris, SC, she was the daughter of the late King Dillie Cartrette & Daisey Lizzie Ann Cribb Cartrette. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leamon Belton “Sammy” Locklear; siblings, Kenneth “Ken” Dean Cartrette, Ferril Cartrette, and Michael Cartrette. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Worthington Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Timmy Locklear and Rev. Bobby Cartrette officiating. Interment will follow in the King Dillie/Locklear Cemetery in the Old Cribbtown Community of Chadbourn. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00, Tuesday Evening at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn. She is survived by her children, Angelia Renee Spivey (Teddy) of Chadbourn, Christy Locklear Cartrette (Craig) of Whiteville; siblings, Hilda Reynolds (Charles) of Lake Waccamaw, Katherine Harrelson of Wilmington, Pat Gerald (Gene) of Loris, SC; grandchildren, Erica Locklear Gore (Terry), Anthony Cartrette, Garison Johnson, Jasmine Cartrette; beloved puppy, Vanna Kay Locklear; sister-in-law’s, Ethel Cartrette and Annetta Cartrette.
