Scott Eugene Halverson, 55, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:30 A.M. June 20, 2019 at his residence in Mount Vernon. He was born May 9, 1964 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Bruce and JoAnn (Atherton) Halverson. Scott was married to Trena Youngblood and she survives. In addition to his parents and former wife, Scott is survived by his son, Caleb Halverson of Mount Vernon, Illinois; stepson, Zachary Youngblood of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sibings, Steven Halverson and wife, Vicki of Bloomfield, Indiana, Shane Halverson and wife, Teak of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Tammy Brubaker and husband, Dan of Clovis, California; and several nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents and sister, Shawna Halverson. Scott worked as a truck driver and retired after over thirty years because of failing health. He was a member of Mount Vernon Baptist Temple. Scott loved to make people laugh. He was a beloved son, loving father, and good friend. Scott will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple, 817 Woodland Drive, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Tim Reynolds officiating. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Mount Vernon Baptist Temple Missionary Fund.
