Royce Edith Geiger December 15, 1942 – June 27, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Funeral service for Royce Edith Geiger will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2019 in the First Baptist Church, Snyder, Oklahoma with Dr. Michael Geiger, Headrick, Oklahoma and Rev. Nick Johnson, Pastor officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder. Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. Royce Edith Geiger, beloved wife, mother and “MeMe”, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Snyder, Oklahoma at the age of 76. She was born December 15, 1942 in Boggy Depot, Oklahoma to Carl and Stella (Prater) Nix. Royce was the seventh born of nine children. She attended Snyder Schools from 6th grade through her junior year. Royce finished her high school education and graduated from Mountain Park High School in 1960. Royce married the love of her life and best friend, Jerry Geiger on July 2, 1961. They were married for nearly 58 years. She loved going fishing with her husband and family and going to their place at Lake Texoma. She also enjoyed going out to check on and love on the cows and calves at the farm. Royce worked for Snyder Public Schools for 34 years, starting out as a secretary, and then after earning her degree in Elementary Education from Cameron University in 1982, she taught and coached for the rest of her career. Royce coached hundreds of girls in basketball and track with great success and had several undefeated seasons. For the last several years of her career, Royce co-coached with her husband Jerry. They coached the junior high and high school teams to many victories. Royce never met a child that she didn’t love, and according to her, every one of her grandbabies “looked just like her”. Royce is survived by her loving family, including husband Jerry, daughter Sherri Baker and husband James, a son Dr. Michael Geiger and wife Shaun, 7 grandsons; Matt Johnson, wife Kristen and their children Kameron and Kimber, Dallas Baker, Alecia and daughters Cara and Emily, Dr. Bryce Geiger, wife Sophia and their children Kasen and Kate, Dr. Seth Geiger, wife Madison and their children Hayden and Harper, Trevor Geiger, wife Samantha and their children Eric and Ezra, Wyatt Johnson and Daniel Valderas. She is also survived by 5 granddaughters; Jamie Yarbrough and daughters Neeli and Leela, Ashlee Tollison, her husband Randy and their sons Aiden, Karter and Jax, Krysta Baker, Darah Lang, husband Josh and their son Oliver, Maddie Rhodes and husband Blake. Royce is survived by one brother Roger Nix and wife Loretta, and two sisters, Ruby Stoops and Betty Edwards. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Stella Nix, a granddaughter, great-grandson Daxx, her sister Nell, and 4 brothers, Aaron, Carl Ed, Ben and Roy. Royce was a wonderful, loving woman who will be missed greatly by everyone whose lives she touched. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Snyder to build a playground for the children.
