Mr. Ronald Holley Ethridge, age 80, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery. Rev. Mark Carter will officiate. Mr. Ethridge was born April 24, 1939 in Leslie. He was the son of the late George Edward Ethridge and the late Effie Holley Ethridge. He was a retired truck driver for Georgia Highway Trucking. Mr. Ethridge was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Becky Tyler (Howard) of Acworth, GA and Michelle Blantz (Michael) of Americus; son Michael Ethridge of Dahlonega, GA; a stepdaughter Jodi Vaughan of Bradenton, FL; a stepson Jamey Vaughan of Newnan, GA; one brother Reagan Ethridge (Linda) of Leslie, GA; one sister-in-law Thelma Ethridge; six grandchildren Logan Tyler, Nichole Wilson and husband Matt, Meghan Blantz, Thomas Blantz, Rachel Vaughan, Brookins Vaughan, and a great grandson Landon Wilson. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ethridge was preceded in death by his wife Sally Dorrity Ethridge, a brother George Ethridge, and a granddaughter Beth Tyler. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sumter Humane Society, 108 Industrial Blvd, Americus, GA 31719.
