Mr. Robert Earl Johnson, age 72, of Somerville, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Johnson was born on November 24, 1946 to James Howard William Johnson & Sally Mae King Johnson. Mr. Johnson retired from the city of Huntsville where he worked in the waste management department. He enjoyed family gatherings, farming, listening to blue grass music and watching Alabama football. He was passionate about anything with wheels and a motor and enjoyed Nascar and loved racing. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 49 years, Dottie Johnson; son & daughter-in-law, Neal Barnard & Wendy; daughter & son-in-law, Karen Johnson & Jerry Self; grandchildren, Kynsi Barnard, Ashlyn Barnard & Brandon Barnard; sister, Jessie Lee Logan. Preceded in death by his parents, James Howard William Johnson & Sally Mae King Johnson. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City with Bro. David Mangum & Bro. Van Johnson, officiating. Burial will be in Rescue Cemetery with Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City & Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing. Pallbearers will include; Van Johnson, Dewayne Couch, James Couch, Carl Couch, Kerrick Whisenant & Derick Prince. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 17, 2019 at Brindlee Mtn. Chapel Funeral Home, Morgan City.
