Robert’s Obituary Robert “Pops” D. Snyder, Sr, 77, of Granite City, IL died on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville, IL. He was born on August 21, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Charles Henry and Alice Louise nee: Shellenberg Snyder. Pops was a parking lot attendant for several years. He enjoyed playing slot machines and socializing with friends at Paddy McD’s Bar. When he won, little or big, he shared the wealth and never went home with a dime. He enjoyed sharing stories of East St. Louis with family, friends and strangers. The loving father is survived by a daughter, Kelly Lynn Miller of St. Louis, Mo; 2 sons: Robert Snyder, Jr of Granite City, IL and Michael Snyder of Troy, MO; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Karen Snyder; 3 brothers: Edgar Snyder of Okawville, IL, Raymond Snyder of Villa Hills, IL and Ronald Snyder of Fenton, MO and 2 sisters: Katherine Hawthorne of Centralia, IL and Mary Scell of Centralia, IL. He will be missed by many friends. Pops is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Bonnie Kay Kelly; 5 brothers: Joseph Snyder, Benjamin Snyder, Vernon Snyder, Eugene Snyder and Bob Snyder and a sister, Delores Biggs.
