Richard L. Harris, 68, of Springfield, IL passed away on June 16, 2019 at Heritage Health Center while surrounded by his family. Richard was born on April 28, 1951 in Springfield, IL the son of Gene and Betty (Scott) Harris. As a younger man, Richard enjoyed working on cars and being with the people he cared about. He loved his family and drinking sweet tea. He also had a special place in his heart for his niece Sharon Harris, who was like a daughter to him. He is survived by his siblings, Bill, Donnie, and sister Sharon; as well as lots of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; his parents; and 3 sisters, Lillian, Wanda, and Doris. Service will be held on Wednesday June 26, 2019 at Eillinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home 530 N. 5th St. Springfield, IL 62702. The visitation will take place from 11am until the time of the memorial service at 12 noon. Any memorial donations may be made to Ellinger-Kunz and Park Funeral Home in c/o Richard Harris.
