Mrs. Rhonda Scarborough McCannon, 53, of Elberton passed away Tuesday morning, June 4, 2019. A native of Elbert County, Mrs. McCannon was the daughter of Kenneth J and Phyllis L. Tate Scarborough. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Rhonda was a member of Forest Hills Assembly of God, where she found great joy in serving God. She enjoyed singing and painting. She loved children and did childcare for 23 years. She also worked as a secretary for Martin Fireproofing and for Group Underwriters. Survivors include her husband of thirty years, Troy McCannon; son, Justin McCannon, of Athens; parents, Kenneth & Phyllis Scarborough, of Elberton; Sister and Brother-in-law, Jackie and David Mattox, of Elberton; Mother-in-law, Shirley McCannon, of Elberton; and other relatives. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00pm in the chapel of Hicks Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with Rev. Ann Reynolds and Rev. Bill Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family will also receive family and friends at Forest Hills Assembly of God Tuesday evening from 6-9p.m. Flowers will be graciously accepted or memorial contributions may be made to T.J. & Friends Foundation, P.O.
