Raymond James Charles Lucot, 89 of Newport passed away Monday, June 24, 2019 at his home. He was born July 5, 1929 in Glassport, PA. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2838, 4th degree council #2094, Special Olympics, Bread Basket and a Veteran of the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Rose Jakonwicz Lucot; brothers, Joseph, Ernest, Regis and Jerome; sisters, Rose, Cecilia Hutson, Florence Evanchek, and Alice Hrehosik; half-brothers, James, Virgil and Peter “Pete”; half-sisters, Vera and Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susan “Susy” Lucot; son, Benjamin Andrew (Brittany) Lucot; grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Lucot, Andrew Nicholas Lucot and Angelia Grace Lucot; sister, Audrey Alma (Ray) Mamrak of Sutersville, PA; sister-in-law, Betty Lucot of Elizabeth, PA; special niece, Linda Weddle of Plano, TX; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews; special friends, Ray Ellis (deceased) and Jr. Bolyard of Fairmont, WV, and Ken Booker of Jefferson City. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 3, 2019 from 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Newport with mass to follow with Msgr. Robert Hofstetter officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. Arrangements by Stetzer-Bales Funeral Home.
