Raymond Elliott September 3, 1930 – June 9, 2019 Raymond Elliott, 88, Rogersville, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Magnolia Square, Springfield. He was born September 3, 1930 in Clinton, Missouri, the son of the late Charlie and Lillian (Cauthron) Elliott. He was united in marriage July 21, 1948 in Clinton, Missouri to Edna Mae Young. She preceded him in death in 2015. He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Elliott in 2017, six brothers and two sisters. Raymond grew up in the Clinton, Missouri before going to California and working as a truck driver with the Teamsters Union for 12 years. After moving to Fordland, he worked as a truck driver with Springfield Grocery Company and then as a mechanic with the Fordland School District. He also owned Elliott’s Feed Store in Fordland for several years. He was a member of Fordland Freewill Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing along with his wife Edna at church. They also enjoyed traveling in the western states. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Elliott; a daughter-in-law, Teresa Elliott; a brother, Earl Elliott; a sister, Lee Cooper, several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2019 at Fordland Freewill Baptist Church, Fordland under the direction of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow at Fordland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2019 in the funeral home.
